Or to act like someone that is mad.
I never asked you to beat up my mom,
Or to let me go with other kids to prom.

I've never asked for the pain,
Or nights that were insane.
I've never asked for the strife,
Or for you to damage my life.

I never asked you to raise hell,
Or for my room to be a cell.
I never asked for the bruises,
Or for a father that refuses.

I never asked to be treated bad,
Or for you to make me sad.
I never asked for anything at all,
Or for you to drink alcohol.

I've never asked for insane nights,
Or for my fundamental human rights.
I never asked for fights that were wild,
Or to grow up as a bewildered child.

I never asked to be beguiled,

Or to grow up a defiled child.
I never asked anyone for help,
Or ever tried to let out a yelp.

I've never asked you to leave me alone,
Or to be borrowed to a friend as a loan.
I never asked you for freedom to roam,
Or to be brought up in a broken home.

I never asked you for a shove,
Or to be shown a bit of love.
I never asked for attention,
Or to be shown condescension.

I've never asked you for a new toy,
Or to allow me to run after a boy.
I never asked you, but I ask you now,
I hope you explain to me somehow.
